Connecting Your Social Accounts

To begin publishing, you need to grant Directly Social permission to post on your behalf. We use secure OAuth 2.0 flows, which means we never see or store your social media passwords.

Automatic Connection

Good news! The primary account you used to log into Directly Social is automatically connected and ready for publishing. You can see it in your Settings > Destinations list immediately.

How to Connect Additional Accounts

If you have multiple YouTube channels, TikTok profiles, or Instagram Business accounts, you can add them easily:

  1. Go to Settings -> Destinations.
  2. Click the Connect button next to the platform you want to link.
  3. You will be redirected to the platform's official login page (TikTok, Google, or Meta).
  4. Review the permissions requested and click Authorize or Allow.
  5. You will be automatically returned to Directly Social, and your account will now appear as "Connected."

Troubleshooting

  • Expired Tokens: For security, platforms periodically expire their connection tokens. If you see a "Connection Expired" error, simply click Reconnect in Settings.
  • Permissions Error: Ensure you have accepted all required permissions during the OAuth flow. If publishing fails, try disconnecting and reconnecting the account to refresh permissions.
  • Business vs Personal: For Instagram, you must have a Professional (Business or Creator) account linked to a Facebook Page to use the API.

Removing an Account

You can disconnect any account at any time by clicking the Disconnect icon in the Destinations tab. This will immediately revoke our access to that specific account.
